The Children's Museum of Sonoma County

Announces $10,000 Grant by Wells Fargo

Santa Rosa, CA – The Children's Museum of Sonoma County has been awarded a $10,000 grant by Wells Fargo.  The gift will be applied towards the capital campaign for “A Place to Wonder,” which seeks to raise funds for indoor exhibits for the new museum. The exhibits will focus on science, nature and the arts.

"We are grateful to Wells Fargo for investing in the future of Sonoma County’s children, as this is a great resource for area families,” said Collette Michaud, CEO of the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County. “This donation will assist us as we raise enough funds to make the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County a world-class center for playful experiences in the sciences, arts and nature.”

CMOSC is undergoing a multi-year campaign to raise $1.8 million to finish the indoor exhibits and building upgrades to their site, located at 1835 West Steele lane, adjacent to the Charles M. Schulz Museum . The museum also recently received a grant from California Parks and Recreation for outdoor exhibits and improvements on the four-acre lot.

The museum is slated to open in late 2013.

Currently, the Children's Museum of Sonoma County reaches over 10,000 children and their caregivers each year through 'Museum-on-the-Go' community events, school outreach programs, and special events and birthday parties held at the site.
